Peace, quiet and luxury are all available in the area of Portals Nous, which also combines both tourist and residential atmospheres. Portals Nous has Puerto Portals, one of the best-known luxury marinas, frequented by famous representatives of the aristocracy and the international jet set.

General Information:
Portals Nous marina is relatively new. It is situated on the coast 8 kilometres southwest from Palma. In the marina you can find a big selection of restaurants from the most expensive to down to earth pizza restaurants.

Where to go:
Luxury restaurants, cocktail bars, ice cream parlours and boutiques bring to this enclave all the elements needed for it to be considered one of the most cosmopolitan and glamorous places in Calvia. A short distance away is the "Mare de Deu de Portals" Shrine, one of the most romantic places in the municipality. The 19th century, Bendinat castle which dominates the area is home to a select golf course and also offers beautiful scenery.

Beaches:
At Portal Vells, this is a small beach, with vegetation that extends down to the shore. The beach lies within the Natural Area of Special Interest (ANEI) of cap de Cala Figuera, the nesting spot of a large number of sea birds. The beach features two bar/restaurants which specialize in fresh seafood, rice dishes and fish stews.

Gastronomy:
At Portals Nous Marina you will find a wide range of restaurants to suit all tastes. Diablitos bar offers a good range of bar snacks and pizzas, and also Lollo Rosso, a small but friendly Italian restaurant which offers tasty cuisine at reasonable prices. For those who want sheer and utter decadence go to Tristan's but beware- only the very well heeled and those willing to pay astronomical prices need enter into this exclusive restaurant.

Comments:
Portals Nous is mostly used by the yachtsmen and their guests from Puerto Portals yacht club. It is nice and peaceful beach with clear waters It is certainly one of the better places to go if you just want a small quiet beach. It is just a short walk from the yacht club where one can find plenty of restaurants, bars and shopping, but bring your credit cards as prices can be expensive.
